sustainability policy
Where possible we grow the ingredients for our products on our farm. To be upfront, we don’t physically have the space to do this on our 3 acre small holding. So we went to the next best thing – we partnered with the awesome folks at Mantos Providore in Cobram to ensure all of our fresh produce is sourced and grown locally. We also proudly use, where possible, foods unsuitable for the supermarket industry – contributing in our own way to reducing excess food wastage. Whilst our sundry items may not be able to be grown locally, i.e sugars, we ensure we purchase such items from local suppliers to support our local economy.
Our hamper boxes are made from sustainable forest paper and are able to be either home composted or recycled. The windowed lid is made from a bioplastic made from plants, not oil, and is certified industrially compostable. We use wood wool, also from certified forests as fillers. Our jars are supplied from an Australian owned and operated company and our labels are made from YUPO a tree free paper which is fully recyclable whilst also being waterproof and ripproof.
When making our products, we aim to do so when the sun shines, supply us with ample solar energy, we regularly donate to Carbon8 & Greening Australia to offset our carbon footprint. When shipping our products use plant based packaging tape and biodegradable noodles.
