Thank you for supporting our small farm. Our customers mean the world to us and make it possible to keep our little farm going. With the resurgence of Dahlias, we’re welcoming many new growers with all levels of experience. These terms help manage expectations, reduce confusion, and minimise the need for direct queries already answered here. We always love hearing from you, but please remember that every extra email takes us away from planting stock and packing orders.
Our site is hosted by Shopify, a world leader in e-commerce. This investment allows us to manage high traffic and secure payments, but issues can still occur at peak demand.
In particular, shipping costs may duplicate when purchasing different product types — if this happens, we will refund any overcharge.
Tubers come in many shapes and sizes. While we talk about a body, neck, crown and eye, these aren’t always evenly proportioned — sometimes necks are almost indistinguishable, or shoots form underneath the clump. That’s all perfectly normal. We never send tubers smaller than a 9V battery, and all are confirmed to have a viable shoot or eye at packing. A cut or trimmed base simply shows where we’ve checked for rot and does not affect viability.
Perfect blooms shown online can be misleading. Growth depends on soil, feeding, pest control, disbudding, and your local conditions. Giants, for example, only reach true “dinner plate” size if heavily disbudded. Dahlias are generous flowers, but they do require work if you’re aiming for show quality. Even then, losses happen — that’s nature. Many varieties flower beautifully in their first year but perform best once established in their second. Patience is key.
Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive Australia Post tracking details.
Please be patient — we pack and ship orders as quickly as possible while also managing our other work commitments.
All orders will be processed and shipped by the end of October, ready for planting.
We kindly ask that you do not email for order updates or priority requests — these only delay the packing process. All orders are fulfilled in the order they were received.
Please collect promptly, especially for live plants — ideally on the day of delivery. Our plant boxes are labelled LIVE PLANTS, with a request not to be left in the sun. However, we can not control how parcels are handled by couriers. If issues arise, parcels are insured by Australia Post up to $100 automatically. Please contact us immediately with photos or video so we can assess and advise.
Plants may have been reduced in height to fit into Australia Posts own shipping boxes, this allows us to post more plants at a set price point overall lowering costs to you.
You’ll also receive an email with links to our growing guides. Please read them ahead of your parcel’s arrival so you’re prepared for initial care.
To share rare cultivars fairly - Some unicorns (such as Hapet Coppery, Darbro Tom, Kelgai Ann) are limited to one per customer. Our site currently can’t block additional purchases, so extras will be cancelled and refunded at processing. Repeat attempts will incur a $10 restocking fee.
Bulk orders may be possible for certain varieties — please email us to discuss.
Multiple orders placed before packing will be combined where possible. To avoid unnecessary costs, select Farm Gate Collection on subsequent orders and then email us with all order numbers to merge. Please note: combined parcels may exceed weight limits, and extra shipping costs may apply. These must be paid before dispatch.
Farm Gate collection is also available for locals, by arrangement.
We are grateful for your support. We hope your Dahlias bring as much joy to your garden as they do to ours.
