This special relish is made from the treasured recipe of Elizabeth “Joan” Harding (1928–2024) — a revered midwife, talented botanical artist, and much-loved member of the Nathalia community.
For Gareth, Joan was more than a family friend. She was a mentor, a storyteller, and someone whose kindness and wisdom left a lasting impression. When the opportunity arose to share her recipe, we knew it deserved to be treated with care and respect.
Made in small batches in our farmhouse kitchen, Joan Harding’s Tomato Relish is a rich, traditional relish packed with ripe tomatoes and balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and spice. It’s the kind of relish that feels instantly familiar — perfect alongside a hearty breakfast, on a sandwich, with a ploughman’s lunch, or paired with your favourite cheese and crackers.
As a tribute to Joan’s remarkable life, we’ve also incorporated her botanical artwork into the label design, allowing her creativity to continue bringing joy to others.
This isn’t just another jar on the shelf. It’s a celebration of friendship, community, and the recipes that connect generations.
