Ranunculi are stunning perinnials, which duplicate each season in the garden by the production of corms. These can been dug up and divided at the end of each season, after natural die back.

Taking Ranunculus to a new level, these newly developed cultivars are sure to impress. Italian breeders have improved on the traditional plants through thousands of crosses, and selecting out the best of the best. The flowers are big and uniform and there are plenty of them. Elegance Ranunculus will flower a little earlier and their blooms are even bigger and more prolific than the run of the mill Ranunculus.

In Victoria, the best time to plant ranunculus corms is in early spring. Here are some tips for planting corms:

When to plant: In Victoria, plant ranunculus corms in early spring. In cooler regions, plant in March and April, and in warmer areas, wait until May.

How to plant: Plant corms 3 inches deep and 6 inches apart. Plant with the pointy end up, or put them on their side to find their own way up.

Soil: Ranunculus prefer well-drained loam with added organic matter.

Sunlight: Ranunculus prefer full sun for best flowering.

Watering: Once corms have sprouted, keep moist but not wet.

Feeding: Add a controlled-release fertilizer in late winter, and add bulb food when flowers fade.
